About the day

Join us for a celebration of our members’ achievements with the ITI awards, outstanding speakers, networking and dinner.

Explore the love-hate relationship between American and British English with Lynne Murphy on the back of the launch of her new book ‘The Prodigal Tongue’ where she looks, with great humour and new insights, at the social, political and linguistic forces that have driven American and British English in different directions.

Join ‘Welcoming the Wake-up Call’ a lively, entertaining and inspirational talk with Chris Durban, a freelance French>English translator specializing in corporate strategy, finance and business/crisis communications. Based in Paris, she has over 40 years’ experience working with a portfolio of demanding clients, primarily in the private sector.

Share your own work, celebrate your triumphs and learn from your peers, with an “open mic” session, hosted by Anne de Freyman. No slides, just you, your thoughts and the friendliest of audiences. 5-minute slots are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Like to participate? Email events@iti.org.uk with ‘take 5 minutes’ in the subject line and a short 20-word description on the subject of your talk.

This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a summer’s afternoon and evening networking, with excellent food and a glass of fizz.
